Saudi General Auditing Bureau hosts international meeting

JEDDAH: The president of the Saudi General Auditing Bureau (GAB) on Saturday hosted the 15th meeting of the policy, finance and administration committee of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) at the bureau’s headquarters in Riyadh.
Dr. Hossam bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Anqari’s adviser, Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Habib, said the meeting was attended by the heads of supreme audit institutions from the US, Austria, the UAE, Norway, India, Russia, China, Sweden, South Africa and Brazil.
Al-Habib added that the meeting discussed the activities of INTOSAI’s four main committees: Policy, finance and administration, professional standards, capacity-building and knowledge-sharing.
“The results of this meeting will be presented to INTOSAI’s executive council, which will meet in Russia on Nov. 15-16,” he said.
Recently, the president of the GAB and the head of the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) signed a cooperation agreement in the fields of professional accounting and auditing.
The agreement aims to improve cooperation between the two parties and develop the fields of accounting and professional auditing.
